We used the same materials and structure to teach children at a monthly Chinese American Fellowship locally. It was another exciting opportunity as these families were brought in knowingly unchurched and not exposed to the Gospel. We did not have photo permission from the families therefore, there aren't any pictures of that. :(
We have an amazingly dedicated team from our church, each one diligently studies and prepares for their weekly job in GNC. We all loved working together as a team and it couldn't have happened with the help of each person there. As the leader of the club Mom always said that God hand picked each one on the team!
We would like to share with you how a day in Good News Club goes....After breaking down the class room and setting up all the materials, the precious kids would start pouring in! We separated them by grade into Grade Sheperding groups and had a good time of personal discipleship, Bible verse memory, and prayer requests. They always had different concerns on their hearts to share, and lots of great spiritual questions!
Next, we would move to big group and start out with a fun skit that I (Abigail) wrote weekly. :) Just trying to get the same message accross another way. That was one of their favorite parts. Giggles and cheers would sound throughout the room!
The kids get real energetic when it's time to sing songs and do hand motions.
The next part of club consists of Bible stories, Gospel activities, Bible verse games, and missionary stories! The materials are to disciple the saved and to bring the Gospel to the unsaved each week. We use lots of exciting visuals and objects to get the kids involved in learning God's Word. It is always very encouraging to see them grasp spiritual concepts with clarity and enthusiasm (God loves the heart of a child!).
A clear Gospel presentation is given at the end of every club. The children have an opportunity to speak with a counselor who shows them from the Bible how to believe on Jesus. Over the last two school years, 64 children, that we know of, have come to know Christ as their Savior. Praise the LORD!
Every week, each of us look forward to spending time with these special children. Their hearts are so hungry and open to hear what God has for them. I am especially encouraged by some of them already taking a stand for God at their young age! They share different things that they do like pray for their friends and family, share Gospel tracts on the playground, give Bibles to unsaved relatives, and much more. For many this is the only "Jesus" they get and it's where they got their first Bible. I can't help but think are we bold witnesses for Christ in our own areas of life like these children?
Here's some more fun pictures of the children during club time!
One of the 5th graders gets the privilege of collecting prayer requests in the "Jesus Can" (Jesus "Can" answer your prayers!) and prize raffle tickets in our Gospel colors bucket. :)
Please pray for the dear souls of children in Good News Clubs all over the world to be saved and discipled! They are the foundation and future leaders of our country!
*Thanks for helping with the photos April & Kim!*

ReplyDeleteHey Laura! We remember eating lunch with you at the conference! We're thrilled you're heading up a club in MI! It's an incredible ministry to reach into our very own back yards of America. Our society is in great need of knowing God! We pray your club is going well and that seeds are being planted and watered! God bless!
